Yarns For You and a Story Too!

Just a quick post to tell you about some very cute yarn!

But, before I get to that, let me tell you this. For my birthday, one of the gifts I received from my daughter, Stephanie, was a little book of indulgences. I’m not talking about the Catholic kind, either, for all you Catholics out there. (I know, . . .  I’m one.) Number one on the list in this little booklet, was T-E-A.   Aaah, tea. One of the BEST things in life. It may not be free, but I can’t live without it. I start out my day with tea, have a cup at three, and two more in the evening.

That’s the way it’s been for years and years. I like coffee in the morning, but tea comes first. Always has, and it always will. What better beverage to have when knitting needles are in your lap and the yarn is slipping through your fingers? What better drink is there to sit in the front of the fireplace or wood-stove with? Listening to the crackling flames, watching the rise and fall of the fire as it goes from bright yellow to gold to red. I’m especially partial to Tetley’s British Blend. Try some for yourself.

As autumn seems on the wane with this polar vortex “weather”, winter seems looming large, even before we get to the Thanksgiving turkey! So, you can never have enough tea in-house!

Just a thought.

Have you seen the WEBS catalog lately?  Here is a link to their blog, which has lots of nice ideas for knitting creatively. I’m just going to have to knit those snowmen! Too cute.

This time of year, we ALL get so many of those “things” every day in the mail!     catalogsBut, don’t throw out the knitting and yarn catalogs. Besides finding great yarns, there are also terrific patterns and accessories to purchase, too.

One of my very favorite things to do is visit local yarn shops. I also like finding them when I’m in faraway places, too.  I don’t know about you, but I’m always drawn in by the colors that are available in all those yarns. Some of the reds and blues are unlike anything I’ve seen so far; it’s always different everyplace I go!

As I’ve been looking and scouting around there are some yarns that have come to my attention lately. I’ve only knitted with the Sugar ‘n Cream yarn to date, but these others are on my favorites list!

Here they are: (click the link or the pic)
