Scarf Knitting on Friday the 13th

So here I am scarf knitting on Friday the 13th

This is the second month in a row that the 13th day of the month lands on a Friday. Really, it hasn’t impacted me since I was about a freshman in high school; so all you knitters out there who fear this day or the number thirteen, take heart! It’s nothing but a silly superstition.

Thirteen is a baker’s dozen, in case you didn’t know. And the United States began with just 13 colonies, and no one seemed to think that would turn out bad. (It hasn’t.) And remember Apollo 13, (“Houston, we have a problem”); they definitely weren’t unlucky!

So, just to tempt fate 🙂 or to be a little eccentric, start knitting something new today, Friday the 13th! Mark it on your calendar and when you’re finished, take note of how it went. No different from any other knitting project you’ve done, I’ll bet! In fact, this one may have flown along.

I’m right in the middle of my Peacock Jewel Scarf which I mentioned a few weeks back in this post. In fact, I’m loving this scarf so much I may knit another one in pure turquoise, it’s such a pretty color! (My favorite.)turquoise yarn and needles

“Man makes holy what he believes, as he makes beautiful what he loves.” Ernest Renan

As well as knitting my scarves today, I’m also looking for a new scarf pattern for a new lace scarf. Lace knitting is very easy to do, as long as you don’t use an overly complicated pattern. I prefer the written instructions over charts. They are just easier to follow.

Besides searching online for “knitting lace scarf patterns”, I also like to stroll over to places like Pinterest or Craftsy for ideas. AND, I always refer back to all of my knitting books which are chock-full of knitting patterns. So, there’s something for everyone. Hurray!

I love getting inspiration from books such as Victorian Lace Today by Jane Sowerby and Knockout Knits by Laura Nelkin. Just turning the pages, you will be get so many ideas, jot them down before you forget!

Scarf Knitting on Friday the 13th

can be one of the “fun-nest” things you do all year!

So,

just click the tote bag for yours! And remember, by tomorrow, Friday the 13th will be just a memory!

As always, take your knitting to heart!

Glitter heart

I haven’t felt like knitting lately. For the blast two weeks I have been battling with a stomach virus. The kind where you need to stay close to the rest room.
On another note Daniel Hunter Mason entered the world on Feb. 12,2015 a little after 3pm Vs. Time Weight was 7lbs 6ozs. He was 20 1/2 inches long..

    • Feeling sick will certainly do that to you! In January 2014 I battled (and that’s exactly what it felt like) bronchitis for a MONTH. You feel like doing nothing but closing your eyes.

So glad to know your grandson is doing well. Sounds just perfect to me!

We live near to a naval base here in central NJ and since yesterday they have been “gunning”; drives my dogs crazy. They run for cover and pant all day long, poor babies! Stop it already!
      Feel better Julia!
