May is upon us, and the knitting is easy! Just for awhile we can put aside heavy yarn and bulky patterns and concentrate on those wispier, lighter knitting patterns which are so EASY to knit!
This month is usually chock-full of many happy events. There’s Mother’s Day, of course, and always birthdays, too. Then there are those proms that our kids look forward to all year long. College graduations are usually held in May, when those higher education years finally come to an end. Wherever I go there are flowers all around; bunches and bouquets in the stores, wristlets and corsages displayed on tables, rows upon rows of outdoor plants and pretties in any garden center or home store. They’re even in my inbox! Not one hour goes by without another email for “the best flower bargain today!”
Plenty to celebrate! So, what could be nicer than to knit up a beautiful easy lace scarf pattern for someone you love? In fact, this knitting pattern is one you could start and finish in a week or a few weekends! Cool!
If you can do the knit stitch, the purl stitch, yarnovers, and knit two togethers, then YOU can knit this easy lace scarf pattern, too. Just follow the rows 1-16, and start all over again. Before long, you’ll have a very pretty scarf on your hands (or should I say needles!).
I used Naturally Caron Spa yarn, which is a silky soft bamboo blend. Made in Turkey this color is Rosalinda. What a pretty name! One skein is 251 yards and I think that will do it for my scarf! Any Simply Soft yarn will do.
